a tentative to put on paper ideas that surround my mind about creating profitable products usefully to build a better world

An attempt to put in line ideas that surround my mind about creating profitable products to build a better world.

Nowadays electronic distributed systems with all kind of sensors attached are emerging to face sophisticated requirements in diverse fields from environment monitoring, industrial automation to entertainment and fashion products. Widening horizons in theses fields crosses news technological frontier and offers a lot of new business opportunities.
These electronic distributed systems are basically composed by three functional components: Sensors, radio, and processor. The first one is responsible for data gathering from environment. The radio represents the communication channel that is typically a wireless media to improve flexibility. At least the processor argues to process data got from sensors and coordinate interactions with other systems though communication channel. A term that is becoming standard to treat generally this system is Wireless Sensors Networks (WSN).
The Semiconductor industry evolution is close related to Wireless Sensor Networks future steps. According with ITRS …
There is a big challenge maintain chips fabrication yield while manufacturing process getting complex due miniaturization trend and to new interfaces requirements that aims to put in a single chip heterogeneous components as MEMS, optical and organic parts. [STACKED DIE, WLCPS, SiP]
A lot of other technology evolution trends are related with progress in this are for example processing power is becoming cheaper, low-power consumption could reflect a increase of complexity and quantity of data that can be processed inside sensors.
The amount speculated that’s is invested in these efforts are something in order of 10 Billion per years. Segmented in nanotechnology, semiconductors.
By the way create value through innovation seems to requires a serious research and in some case expensive laboratory installations. Circumvent these difficulties is securely possible. We know a lot of cases where the lack of resources catalyzed breakthrough advances. Develop products that disrupt rather than sustain existing dominant technologies is sometimes motivated exactly for the lack of possibility to reach mainstream technology.
Brazil is the world leader in biological diversity, how can we use this in advantage to build eco-profitable products? Getting inspirations?
Wireless Sensors Networks really are the future and sensors represent a vital part of these systems. What happens when we bring alive systems that evolved for billions of years until actual shape and connects them like sensors in our system?
We can use a live organism as a sensor to supply high value information for example in an irrigation control system of a potato plantation. Where a single potato leaf could supply information about potato plant water needs. The leaf is interconnected to ground through potato ramified roots being able to get most significant information about plant needs than a simple humidity sensor put directly underground. This setup could also reduce environment contamination possibility risk ever present when treating with electronic components.
This is just one example, it is inconceivable the number of sensors that could be made using the technology of these alive systems.
Other examples where this technology could be present is in:
• Irrigation and ground nutrients sensors for agriculture
• Forest fire sensors
• …

Why this name?

Because the thought is the only think that I have.
